  My husband bought a $300 dress for me for my birthday and paid with cash.  When I finally got it and tried it on, it was a bit too big so I took it back and tried another size on.  It just didn’t fit right.  I wanted to return it but the sales lady told me they only do store credit, which was not disclosed to my husband when he purchased it.
